Plentiful Tree Felling

Felling a tree (any tree, not just the pines in the screenshots) gives a configurable amount of sticks and tree seeds - one full drop roll per remaining leaf block instead of the shrinking handful vanilla gives.

Sticks and tree seeds have their own percentage in the config file.

 

This mod only changes how many sticks and tree seeds you get when felling a tree - the log amount is unchanged.

The vanilla amount is somewhere around 15% - more on small trees, less on big ones.

The mod starts with a default of 100% - it means you get the same amount as if you had used shears on all leaf blocks of a tree before felling it.

You can set it to 2000% max - keep your hand baskets empty before you do that.

 

Tree farming will be more joyful without worrying that you will run out of tree seeds.

Use this mod in combination with Universal Sticks (https://mods.vintagestory.at/universalsticks), and getting charcoal will be easier.

 

Server side does not mean multiplayer only - the mod works in singleplayer as well, because singleplayer runs its own server.

On a multiplayer server only the server needs it, players don't have to install anything.

 

It should be compatible with Salty´s Falling Trees mod. The configurable values of how much sticks or tree seeds you get when felling a tree still applies with Salty's mod enabled.

You have to use placeLeaves (/ftplace leaves) config as false for this mod to take affect. Otherwise nothing changes if leaves blocks are moved to the ground by Salty's mod. Tested only with latest Salty´s Falling Trees mod version 0.5.2.

 

Might still be incompatible with other tree felling mods. If you run into one, please leave a comment below about it and I will try to investigate.

 

Compatible with ConfigLib, and it can also be configured in a JSON file in the ModConfig folder. With ConfigLib the changes apply right away.

If you edit the JSON file directly, you need to restart the game or the server for the changes to take effect.
