Crafting in Vintage Story often feels like a constant hunt for animal fat. If you didn't want to spend your days hunting or raising livestock, getting your mechanical power grid running—or even just making leather—could be a real grind. Useful Oils fixes this!

Features

• Now you can exchange one unit of fat for 0.5L of oil for the vast majority of recipes.
  Simply fill a bowl with linseed oil and replace the fat with it!
• You can also treat the hides with linseed oil to make pelts.

 

All blocks that need lubrication now accept oil:

• Windmill Rotors (Wooden)

• Wooden Axles & Angled Gears

• Spur Gears, Clutches, and Transmissions

• Fruit Press

I just wanted a way to use all that extra Flax I was growing. This mod makes late-game mechanical power much more accessible for players who prefer farming over hunting.

I'm working in more uses for olive oil! Thinking on recipes that can been made with foods such as some type of preserves... I will continue thinking!
