VS Companions
Adds two companions you can control through dialogue and behavior modes.

Description
VS Companions
VS Companions adds a companion system to Vintage Story, allowing players to travel with two different companions at the same time, each with their own strengths and utility.
Both companions are designed to be useful in different situations, giving players more tactical flexibility while exploring, fighting, or simply surviving the world.
Most interactions with companions are handled through a dialogue interface, making it easier to control their behavior and manage their actions.
Companion Modes
Companions currently support four behavior modes:
Follow
The companion follows the player and actively engages threats. This is the main combat-oriented mode.
Wait
The companion stays exactly where it was ordered and ignores surrounding activity.
Neutral
The companion will not attack enemies unless directly provoked.
Gather
The companion can search for random loot every 8 in-game hours. This value can be adjusted in <span style="background-color: #f1c40f;">config/companions-gather.json.</span>
Companion Crafting
The mod also includes a special workbench used for companion-related crafting.
This workbench is used to assemble parts, craft components, and handle companion creation through a dedicated system built specifically for the mod.
Teleportation
Companions can teleport to their owner only while they are in an active mode.
If a companion is set to Wait, it becomes inactive and will not react to events or teleport commands.
Assistance System
If a companion drops below 1 HP, it will automatically switch into Wait mode and become inactive.
While inactive, it cannot execute commands until:
-
it regenerates enough health naturally
-
the player repairs it using a Temporal Gear
Companions can also be repaired during combat by holding a Temporal Gear and right-clicking them.
Ownership Protection
The mod includes an ownership system that prevents other players from taking control of your companion.
Once bonded, a companion belongs permanently to its owner.
If you lose your companions, you can remove the binding using the commands:
<span style="background-color: #f1c40f;">vscompanions-reset (player)</span>
or for an individual companion:
<span style="background-color: #f1c40f;">vscompanions-resettype (player) (entitycode)</span>
to find out (entity code):
<span style="background-color: #f1c40f;">vscompanions-info (player)</span>
All these commands are available only to <span style="background-color: #e74c3c;">server admins!</span>
HUD Settings
The mod includes a configurable HUD for companion-related information.
By default, the HUD settings can be opened with Shift + F.
PvP
Companions are not intended to function as PvP assistants and will not actively participate in player-versus-player combat.
However, players may still use them as mobile storage if they choose.
