AFK level every Pal — even the ones you are not carrying
AFK Pal Leveling automatically gives passive XP to Pals stored in every loaded Palbox and to Pals assigned as workers at your base camps. Leave your world or server running and your collection continues to level in the background.
Default settings
- 1,000 XP per eligible Pal every 60 seconds
- Includes all loaded Palbox residents
- Includes workers assigned to every loaded base camp
- Stops at Palworld's current maximum Pal level
- Skips duplicate records so the same Pal is not rewarded twice in one cycle
- Runs on the authoritative single-player game, host, or dedicated server
- Supports large collections without replacing game assets or data tables
The first award happens about 20 seconds after a world finishes loading. XP is written to each Pal's saved character data, so Palbox Pals do not need to be in your active party.
Required item
UE4SS Experimental (Palworld) is required. Subscribe to and enable both items.
Installation
[olist]
Click Subscribe on this Workshop item.
Subscribe to the required UE4SS Experimental (Palworld) item.
Start Palworld and open Options > Mod Management.
Turn Enable Mod on.
Enable both AFK Pal Leveling and UE4SS Experimental (Palworld).
Click Save and allow Palworld to restart when prompted.
Load a world. The first XP award begins after the initial 20-second delay. [/olist]
Single-player, co-op, and dedicated servers
Single-player: Install and enable the mod normally.
Co-op/listen server: The host must install and enable the mod. A client copy remains idle because the host owns and saves Pal XP, preventing double awards.
Windows dedicated server: Install and enable this mod and its required UE4SS item on the server. Keep the server running for AFK cycles. Players do not need a second XP process on their clients.
Configuration
The Workshop defaults are ready to use. Advanced users can edit
Scripts/config.lua
inside the installed
AFKPalLeveling
folder and restart Palworld. Available settings include:

xp_per_tick

tick_seconds
— seconds between cycles

initial_delay_seconds
— delay after the world loads

include_palbox
and
include_camp

max_level
— 0 uses Palworld's own maximum
Workshop updates can replace local configuration changes, so keep a copy of custom values.
Verified release test
Version 1.0.0 was tested in Palworld v1.0.1.100619 with UE4SS 3.0.1 Beta #0. Ten consecutive live cycles awarded exactly 1,000 XP to 896 unique Pals per cycle:
- 842 Palbox Pals
- 54 camp workers
- 0 unchanged records
- 0 duplicate awards
- 0 errors
- Save, return to title, persistence, and clean exit passed
Compatibility
This is a UE4SS Lua mod. It does not replace Palworld assets, blueprints, data tables, or native XP functions, which keeps overlap with other mods small. It was live-tested alongside an existing UE4SS stack including Aeternium, AutoHatch, BaseRadiusImproved, FullSan, Keybinds, PalSchema, PalStuckDiagnostic, PalTimeTweaks, BPModLoaderMod, and BPML GenericFunctions.
No gameplay mod can guarantee compatibility with every future mod. Another mod that writes the same Pal saved XP or level fields may conflict. Back up important saves before adding or updating gameplay mods.
Troubleshooting
- Nothing happens: confirm both Workshop items are subscribed and
- enabled in Mod Management, then restart Palworld.
- Still waiting for XP: load fully into a world and wait at least 80
- seconds to cover the startup delay and first full interval.
- Co-op clients see no local process: this is expected; the host/server
- is authoritative.
- After changing config.lua: restart the game or server.
- After a Palworld update: verify that UE4SS Experimental still supports
- the current game build.
Uninstall
Disable AFK Pal Leveling in Options > Mod Management, save/restart, and unsubscribe from this item. Removing the mod stops future XP awards; XP and levels already saved to Pals are not rolled back.
