AutoSnap Vanilla Fences

Fences that snap automatically. Build neat borders without the extra hotkey press.

Vanilla fences already support snapping using the game's snap hotkey. AutoSnap makes the seven standard material fences snap automatically when you aim at a foundation edge, removing that extra hotkey step.

Seven familiar fences

  • Wood
  • Stone
  • Metal - the normal barbed-wire-topped fence
  • Glass
  • Japanese
  • Futuristic
  • Ancient

Each keeps its vanilla appearance, recipe, technology unlock and build-menu family. Simply aim and place, without pressing the snap hotkey.

How to use it

Choose a normally unlocked fence from the build menu and aim at a straight foundation edge. The fence snaps automatically; use the game's normal build and rotation controls to place it. These fence classes also allow overlapping placement near other structures. General building restrictions still depend on the game and any other building mods you use.

Requirements and installation

[olist] [*]Subscribe to AutoSnap Vanilla Fences and the required PalSchema Workshop item. PalSchema also requires UE4SS. [*]Open Palworld and go to Options > Mod Management. [*]Enable the required mods and AutoSnap Vanilla Fences, then save your configuration. [/olist]

Manual download and full file instructions: Nexus Mods.

Compatibility and testing

All seven material fences passed player placement/snapping checks in single-player on Palworld 1.0.4 with UE4SS Palworld build 2281fa31 and PalSchema 0.6.7. Their tested Blueprint assets are preserved in this release.

Mods that replace these same fence classes may conflict. AutoSnap changes their class redirects; it does not change recipes or technology requirements. This release covers flat material fences. The separate tall mesh panel and stair handrails are outside its scope.

Multiplayer and dedicated-server behavior has not been separately verified. A server and all participating clients need matching mod files and dependencies. The Workshop package includes both client and server installation rules.

Updating and removing

Back up your world save before changing building mods. Use either the manual or Workshop distribution and avoid duplicate installs.

Updating to 1.0.2: This release uses clean folder and file names. Workshop users should allow Steam to finish updating, then follow the game's mod restart prompt. If you previously copied files manually, close Palworld and follow the packaged README to remove the old named schema folder and PAK files before installing the complete new package. Do not keep duplicate copies or load your world between removal and installation. The seven fence class paths and compiled assets are preserved.

Earlier experimental-build users: if you placed the separate tall mesh-panel fence, dismantle those pieces while that old build is still installed, or return to a save from before they were built. That separate custom class is not included.

Before uninstalling, dismantle fences placed with AutoSnap while the mod is still installed, then close the game and remove its files or disable it. Saved pieces may reference its custom classes.

Support

When reporting a problem, include the fence material, placement target, game/dependency versions and any error message. A screenshot and UE4SS.log help. Preserve that log before the next launch replaces it.
