Requirements
This is a pure data PAK mod.
- No UE4SS required
- No PalSchema required
- No save-file editing required
- No custom items or passives are added
Windows Installation
For Windows single-player and multiplayer clients:
- Subscribe to this mod.
- Enable it in Palworld's Mod menu.
- Restart the game when prompted.
For a Windows dedicated server, install and enable the mod through the official Workshop Mod Loader.
Multiplayer Behavior
The server controls the actual passive effects.
- Server installed, client not installed:
- The enhanced effects work, but the client may continue to display the vanilla passive values.
- Client installed, server not installed:
- The client may display the enhanced values, but the server will continue to use the vanilla effects.
- Server and client both installed:
- The actual effects and displayed values match.
The server must install the mod for the enhanced effects to work.
Client installation is strongly recommended so the passive descriptions and displayed values match the server-side effects.
Linux Dedicated Server Installation
Linux dedicated-server support has been tested successfully through manual PAK deployment.
Stop the server before installing or updating the mod.
Place:
WorldTreeBalance_P.pak
in:
<PalServer root>/Pal/Content/Paks/~mods/WorldTreeBalance_P.pak
A typical SteamCMD installation path is:
~/Steam/steamapps/common/PalServer/Pal/Content/Paks/~mods/WorldTreeBalance_P.pak
If the
~mods
Linux paths are case-sensitive. Use the exact folder structure:
Pal/Content/Paks/~mods
After uploading the PAK, restart the server.
UE4SS and PalSchema are not required.
Players connecting to the Linux server should still subscribe to and enable the Workshop version on their clients. The server-side effects work without the client copy, but clients without the mod may display the original passive values.
Save Compatibility and Uninstalling
This mod modifies existing passive data. It does not create new passives, items, or save records.
Existing Pals and newly obtained Pals with these passives use the enhanced effects while the mod is active.
To uninstall:

Stop the dedicated server.

Remove or disable the mod on the server.

Disable or unsubscribe from the mod on clients.

Restart the server and game.
After removal, the game uses the vanilla passive values again. The passive traits themselves remain on existing Pals.
Compatibility
Conflicts may occur with mods that modify:

The same seven World Tree passives

The same passive-skill DataTable

The same passive records
When multiple mods overwrite the same data, the final result may depend on load order.
Major Palworld updates may require this mod to be updated.
