Tired of broken stat-cap mods, so I built my own.
This version has been completely rewritten as a lightweight UE4SS Lua mod instead of using PalSchema. The goal is to keep it simple and make it work consistently in both single player and dedicated servers.
No promises that Palworld updates will never break it, but there is intentionally very little going on under the hood.
What it does
- Stat Cap: Increased from 50 to 200
- Stat Points per Level: Increased from 1 to 2
- Retroactive Points: Existing characters are automatically granted any missing level-up stat points based on their current level.
The mod changes the live Palworld game settings at runtime and reapplies them when needed, including during server-side stat allocation.
For existing characters, it also compares the character's current normal stat-point total against what they should have earned at the configured points-per-level value and adds any missing points.
Single Player Installation
For single player:
- Subscribe to this mod.
- Subscribe to and enable UE4SS Experimental (Palworld).
- Enable this mod in Palworld's Mod Management settings.
- Once enabled, launch your world normally.
Dedicated Server Installation
For dedicated servers, the mod must be installed on both the server and the connecting client.
Server-side installation is required. Installing the mod only on the client will not override the server's stat allocation limits.
The server must have:
- UE4SS installed and working.
- Player Stat Tweaks installed in the server's UE4SS Mods directory.
- PlayerStatTweaks enabled in the server's
mods.txt
.
For a typical manual UE4SS dedicated-server installation:
PalServer\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PlayerStatTweaks\Scripts\main.lua
Then open:
PalServer\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\mods.txt
and make sure the mod is enabled:
PlayerStatTweaks : 1
Players connecting to the server should also have the Workshop mod and UE4SS enabled on their client.
How it works with existing saves

Stat Cap: Applies immediately to existing saves.

Retroactive Points: Existing characters are automatically checked when they load. If they have fewer normal level-up stat points than they should have based on their current level and the configured
POINTS_PER_LEVEL

Previously Spent Points: Points already allocated into stats are included when calculating the character's total. You do not need to reset your character for the retroactive calculation to work.

Memory Wiping Medicine: Respeccing works normally and returns the character's available normal stat points. The mod will continue to check the character's total afterward and add missing points if necessary.

Changing Points Per Level: The retroactive system is designed to add missing points; it does not remove points that have already been earned or granted. Increasing
POINTS_PER_LEVEL
later should work as expected, but repeatedly changing the value from lower to higher and back down again can result in point totals that no longer exactly match a fresh character using the new setting.

Frequent Configuration Changes: This can become especially noticeable when changing points-per-level values multiple times and using Memory Wiping Medicine between those changes. For the most predictable behavior, choose the values you want and avoid changing them frequently.

Client/Server Configuration: For multiplayer, the client and server should use matching settings. Mismatched values can result in inconsistent behavior or the lower configured limit being enforced.
Customization
The values are defined directly at the top of:
main.lua
By default:
local STAT_CAP = 200
local POINTS_PER_LEVEL = 2
Change those values to whatever you prefer.
For a typical Workshop client installation, the file can be found under:
Palworld\Mods\NativeMods\UE4SS\Mods\PlayerStatTweaks\Scripts\main.lua
For a manually installed dedicated server:
PalServer\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\PlayerStatTweaks\Scripts\main.lua
If you customize the values for multiplayer, make sure the client and server use matching settings.
Because retroactive points are calculated using the current
POINTS_PER_LEVEL
value, I recommend deciding on a value and sticking with it rather than frequently changing it on an established save.
Requirements
- UE4SS Experimental (Palworld)
- Dedicated servers require the mod on both the server and client.
- Manual dedicated-server installations must have PlayerStatTweaks enabled in UE4SS
mods.txt
.
PalSchema is no longer required.
