Powered Appliances
No Cooling Pal. No Kindling Pal. No rebuilding. Just base electricity. Run Palworld's cold storage and electric climate control from the base power grid. Existing placements are upgraded automatically.
What it does
- The standard Refrigerator always runs from base electricity.
- Cold Feed Box, Electric Cooler and Electric Heater support can each be enabled independently.
- Enabled appliances operate with sufficient electricity and stop when power is unavailable.
- Powered food storage returns to normal spoilage without electricity. Preservation and displayed food timers update as power changes.
- Enabled appliances no longer require Cooling or Kindling Pals.
- Clients with the mod installed see one custom Power Online or Not enough electricity indicator per enabled appliance.
- Separate power-draw settings for all four appliances, plus separate preservation multipliers for Refrigerators and Cold Feed Boxes.
Set an optional appliance to false to retain its normal Palworld behaviour and Pal requirements.
Default balance
- Refrigerator: 200 power draw, 40x preservation.
- Cold Feed Box: enabled, 200 power draw, 40x preservation.
- Electric Cooler: enabled, 200 power draw.
- Electric Heater: enabled, 200 power draw.
Requirements and compatibility
Palworld 1.0.4 on Windows, using UE4SS Experimental (Palworld). PalSchema is not required.
- Standard UE4SS 3.0.1 stable: unsupported.
- Upstream experimental UE4SS: not validated for this release.
- NullPrism, Yangff and native Linux servers: compatibility not validated for this release.
Mods changing the same building definitions, assignments, electricity, preservation or power-status UI may conflict.
Multiplayer
For the complete experience, install the same mod version and compatible Okaetsu runtime on the Windows server/host and every Windows client, with matching configuration. The server controls gameplay; clients need the presentation assets and matching local behaviour. Client-only installation does not provide complete server behaviour. Server-only installation Unmodified clients still benefit from base-powered appliances, but retain some vanilla UI:
- Refrigerators and Cold Feed Boxes have no custom power indicator. Food timers reflect powered preservation.
- Electric Coolers and Heaters may display native power indicators with Cooling/Kindling suitability icons. Those Pal requirements are cosmetic; Pals are not needed.
- The monitoring stand still lists assignments, but clicking a Pal to assign it to an affected appliance does nothing.
Steam Workshop installation
[olist] [*]Subscribe to this mod and UE4SS Experimental (Palworld). [*]Enable them through Palworld's mod management and restart to deploy the files. [*]For complete multiplayer support, use matching versions and configuration on the Windows server/host and clients. Dedicated servers require their own Workshop setup; a client subscription alone does not install server files. [/olist] Deployed paths, relative to your Palworld installation:
Mods\NativeMods\UE4SS\Mods\PoweredAppliances\Scripts\main.lua
Pal\Content\Paks\~WorkshopMods\PoweredAppliances\PoweredRefrigerators_P.pak
Pal\Content\Paks\LogicMods\PoweredRefrigeratorsLogic_P.pak
The PAK filenames retain PoweredRefrigerators; the Workshop Lua folder uses PoweredAppliances. Do not install a second copy through the manual archive.
Manual download alternative
The Nexus ZIP has a different layout and uses the PoweredRefrigerators folder. Follow its installation instructions. Do not install both copies.
Updating
Stop the game/server and back up config.lua outside the mod folders. Allow Workshop to download and redeploy the update, then merge your values into the new documented config. Updates can replace deployed configs. Manual users: replace the Lua mod folder and both PAKs with v1.1.2. Use matching versions and settings on server and clients. Restart fully.
Configuration
Workshop config:
Mods\NativeMods\UE4SS\Mods\PoweredAppliances\Scripts\config.lua

power_cooled_feed_box = true
power_electric_cooler = true
power_electric_heater = true
refrigerator_power_draw = 200
cooled_feed_box_power_draw = 200
electric_cooler_power_draw = 200
electric_heater_power_draw = 200
refrigerator_preservation_multiplier = 40
cooled_feed_box_preservation_multiplier = 40
verbose_logging = false
Feature options accept true/false. Power draw accepts whole numbers from 1 to 1,000,000. Preservation multipliers accept numbers from 1 to 1,000,000. Fully restart the game/server after changing configuration. Keep verbose logging disabled for normal play; enable it only to collect diagnostics.
Troubleshooting
- Not loading: Check UE4SS.log for PoweredAppliances and confirm the active installation uses the supported Experimental runtime.
- Missing indicators: Check both PAKs, matching client/server versions and configuration, then restart fully.
- Not enough electricity: Confirm the appliance belongs to a powered base with sufficient generation and reserve.
- Pals still working at appliances: Check feature settings and test without other cooling, heating, appliance or assignment overhauls.
- Duplicate/floating indicators: Confirm the affected client uses v1.1.2, check for duplicate installations and restart.
For bug reports, include versions, config, reproduction steps and relevant logs. Remove private information first.
