Bookshelves finally have a job: they hold your schematics — ALL of them — and nothing else. Every shelf becomes a 200-slot, schematics-only library. Every other container stays exactly vanilla.
What it does
- 200 slots — every shelf variant (stone, iron, wall, hanging, wine cask, antique bookshelf) holds a whole collection.
- Schematics only — shelves accept blueprints/schematics and refuse everything else. Your junk bounces; your library stays a library.
- Surgically per-item — chests, coolers, fridges, boxes, barrels: all untouched. This mod edits ONLY the shelf family.
Single-player or multiplayer?
- Single-player / co-op host: just subscribe — done.
- Dedicated server: this mod is SERVER-SIDE. Install it on the server (copy the PalSchema folder into the server's PalSchema mods directory); players need nothing. Subscribing on a client does NOT affect a dedicated server's world.
How it works
Pure data — a tiny PalSchema blueprint patch (no scripts, no hooks). Shelf blueprints get their storage size and item filter changed at load time, and the game itself enforces the rest.
The fine print
- Newly built shelves only — a container's size is set when it's built. Shelves placed before installing keep their old size until you rebuild them (contents are safe: dismantle refunds materials and drops items).
- Conflicts only with mods that edit the same shelf blueprints' storage (whichever loads last wins). Blanket storage mods that skip shelves coexist fine.

PalSchema and UE4SS — auto-installed when you subscribe.
AI disclosure
Being upfront: these mods are built in collaboration with an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude). I'm a software engineer — the design and direction are mine, and I take a critical eye to the function of the code, review it, and test it in real play. AI drafts the code and much of the text; it saves me a great deal of time and is honestly what makes creating these mods feasible at all.
