Stuck Pal Scanner

Description

Stuck Pal Scanner fixes the long-standing vanilla Palworld bug that deploys base Pals beneath terrain, foundations and other surfaces on dedicated servers.

SPS catches failed deployments while they happen and immediately returns affected Pals to the correct side of the surface, before they begin normal base work. Correctly deployed Pals are left alone.

SPS also rescues Pals that become stuck later, trapped near a Palbox or unable to reach food.

Vanilla Dedicated-Server Deployment Fix

Palworld can find a valid surface for a base Pal and then place that Pal beneath it during deployment. SPS detects that failed placement and corrects it immediately.

 • Runs during Palworld's own worker-deployment process.
 • Returns affected Pals safely above the detected surface.
 • Supports terrain, player-built foundations and other detected surfaces.
 • Supports bases built on land, hills and water.
 • Leaves valid deployments untouched.
 • Acts before the Pal begins ordinary base work.

This fixes the vanilla deployment bug and replaces the old first-visit rescue scan.

Recurring Ground Rescue

Recurring scans remain as a safety net for Pals that become stuck later during a dedicated-server session.

Only attended bases are considered. By default, a base must wait at least 10 minutes before another scan. Palworld's actual base boundaries are used, including enlarged boundaries reported by base-radius mods.

Recurring scans can detect:

 • Pals partially embedded in the floor.
 • Pals moving underneath a base.
 • Pals that have fallen far below the base.
 • Large or Alpha Pals whose visible body does not match their reported position.
 • Pals trapped near the Palbox without making meaningful progress.

Movement and Activity Safeguards

Horizontal and vertical movement are checked separately. A Pal running beneath the floor can still be rescued, while a Pal walking normally is left alone.

Sleeping, fighting, eating, resting and other protected Pals are not teleported unnecessarily. Valid assigned work is recognised, but a “working” state cannot hide a Pal that is genuinely underground.

Hunger Recovery & Rescue

SPS tracks Pals trying to reach food. If a hungry Pal cannot reach food and remains unable to move for the configured time, SPS can relocate it near the Palbox.

Tracking stops immediately when the Pal reaches food normally. Hunger rescue works on dedicated servers and singleplayer.

Rescue Messages and Safe Recovery

SPS reports when rescue operations begin and finish. Dedicated servers use Palworld's system chat for players inside the affected base; singleplayer uses the on-screen Pal notification display. Messages are grouped to prevent spam.

Disable them in config.lua with:

show_rescue_notifications = false
Pals rescued by recurring or hunger scans are spread around an elevated recovery ring. SPS verifies the landing and can try another position if necessary. Natural recovery cancels unnecessary retries.

Monitoring Stand settings and work assignments are preserved throughout rescue.

Singleplayer
SPS detects these modes automatically. Palworld's reliable native save-load deployment remains in control, so the dedicated-server deployment fix and recurring ground scans are not used.

Hunger tracking and hunger rescue remain active.

Panthalus
Panthalus is deliberately ignored by every SPS system. Its size makes it unsuitable for the recovery ring, and it generally deploys correctly without assistance.

The single KingWhale entry in config.lua handles this exclusion.
Server-Friendly Design

The deployment fix reacts to Palworld's deployment process instead of repeatedly scanning every Pal.

Only attended bases receive recurring scans.

No more than two bases share a recurring window.

A global rest period separates recurring windows.

Rescues are processed in small groups.

Existing rescue workload is checked before another scan begins.

Missed scans are not saved up or triggered together.

Unattended bases are not repeatedly scanned.

Completed records are cleaned up and detailed logging is off by default.

Requirements and Support

Palworld 1.0.3.

UE4SS Okaetsu Experimental, or a compatible Linux UE4SS port.
PalSchema is not required.

The same SPS files support compatible Windows and Linux setups. Linux UE4SS is a separate third-party project and is not included with SPS.

On dedicated servers, SPS is installed only on the server. Connecting players do not need it.

Installation
[olist]

Install UE4SS Okaetsu Experimental. Linux users should install a compatible Linux UE4SS port.

Place the StuckPalScanner folder inside the UE4SS Mods directory:
Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\

Confirm this file exists:

StuckPalScanner\Scripts\main.lua

Start Palworld or restart the server.
[/olist]

Linux folder locations and startup commands depend on the UE4SS port being used.
