Shrink down to 1/10th of your size and build miniature bases. Anything you build while tiny stays tiny.

Features

  • Build a tiny base on its own, or on top of your existing foundations and walls
  • Full-size foundations become a 10x10 grid for tiny pieces: floors snap into the cells, walls to the edges, and pillars to the corners
  • Pals spawned from a tiny Palbox are tiny, while Pals from a normal-sized Palbox stay normal-sized
  • Items dropped by tiny Pals and stations come out tiny (configurable)
  • Lots of options in config.lua: controls, speeds, gravity, only allowing shrinking inside bases, and more

Controls

  • Keyboard: Press H to shrink down, and press it again to grow back.
  • Controller: Hold D-Pad Down and press Reload (Square on PlayStation, X on Xbox) to shrink down or grow back.

Controls can be changed in config.lua.

Known Issues

I've been tinkering with this for a few months, but since I'm not very far into the game myself, I expect people will run into bugs I haven't seen yet. I made it mostly for building, so tiny combat isn't really tested or recommended.

  • Pal pathing: Pals don't path around tiny walls very well. The miniature navigation mesh takes a few minutes to load, and until it does, tiny Pals will walk into walls.
  • Tiny Pals in general: They're still pretty buggy. I don't want to set expectations too high, but I'll try to hammer out the bugs as quickly as I can.
  • Combat: I've barely tested fighting with tiny Pals, so expect bugs if you try it.
  • Camera mods: Will probably conflict with mods that change the player camera angle.

Found a bug? Please leave a comment with as much info as possible and I'll do my best to fix it.

Uninstalling

Nothing special is needed. The mod doesn't add any new objects, so your save will load fine without it.

FAQ

Q: A Pal, particle or effect looks different from its normal sized version, or is missing some effects. Why? A: I had to disable some effects while miniature because I couldn't figure out how to scale them down. Things like auras, torches, campfires and some Pal effects wouldn't shrink the same way as everything else, so they're disabled on shrunken things. I'll probably have to use paks or something similar to get them working eventually, but there are no plans for that yet.

Q: Why don't I take much fall damage when falling from high up while tiny? A: I tried to match the gravity and speed feel you have at normal size, but that same logic means you barely take any fall damage from big drops while miniature. I figured that was fine, but there are speed and gravity values in the config you can play with if you don't like it that way.

Q: What is support_adapter.dll for? A: I tried my best to keep the whole mod written in Lua, but I couldn't get the 10x10 tiny grid and a few other things working with Lua alone. The DLL is used to:

  • Enable miniature building on normal-sized foundations
  • Fix a few bugs with miniature Pals
  • Hide some full-sized effects that would otherwise show while miniature
