Rain washes the blood off. It has to reach you first. Skin, clothes, bags, the blade in your hand and the car you ran them over with, in rain and in wet snow.
The mod works out where you are standing, what is over your head, how hard it is falling, how wet you already are and what each thing on you is made of. Stand out in a storm and you come back clean, soaked and cold - getting clean that way costs you something.
- A roof stops it. A carport, an awning, a basement - nothing. An open balcony three floors up washes normally.
- Wet snow washes at 40% of rain, between -1 and 2 degrees. Below that it is not water yet.
- Bonnet and boot lid face upwards and wash fully. Doors and windows shed most of it.
- Weather stops just short of spotless. Scrubbing at a water source finishes the job.
The car wears it too. Run a crowd over and the front of the car carries it for the rest of the playthrough. Leave it parked in the open and the weather takes that off while you are away looting the street - under a carport it keeps every mark. On a dedicated server the change is written on the server side, so every player sees the same car.
Fear of Blood works for you instead of against you. Vanilla makes the trait holder miserable, misery slows every action, and washing is an action. Here scrubbing goes faster, on Auto or a flat multiplier. Off by default.
Bare skin washes fastest. Skin under a coat, slowly. Cotton and denim soak, then rinse out. Raincoats beat cotton, because blood sits on a shell. A worn bag lags, part of it is against your back. A weapon in hand washes fully, slung half, in the backpack never.
Fifteen settings in Mod Options, each described where you set it, plus one dial that scales every rate at once. Server owners can switch the storm diagnostic off for everybody. Thirteen languages, English among them.
Wringing pulls dirt out with the water, about a third of it per wring. Works with the vanilla action and extends Better Wringing.
Wringing finishes on the authoritative side, tested on a dedicated server with a separate client. Safe to add or remove at any time. Requires Woody's Lib (3622629134).
Respect to NoctisFalco, who wrote Rain Wash for Build 41 and had the idea first.
