Now you can see what's making all that noise.

Adds visible aircraft to normal helicopter events and supported Week One or Project A-Life events when using Project Viewpoint. Includes spinning rotors, smooth turns, banking and directional helicopter audio.

Choose a helicopter model from your enabled aircraft mods, or let each event use a random one. With MiG-29 enabled, Week One's fighter events also display a 3D aircraft.

Features

  • Seven supported helicopters: UH-1B Huey, MH-92 Nightfang, Little Bird, Chinook, Black Hawk, UH-1 Huey and AH-1 SuperCobra.
  • Optional random model selection from your enabled helicopter mods. The chosen model stays the same throughout each flight.
  • Animated rotors, gradual turns and banking.
  • Smooth native helicopter flight: roughly 75-metre tracking circles, searches around the player's last known position, and gentle departures. Flight follows the native event clock, including fast-forward.
  • Directional helicopter audio using the original event sounds. Normal helicopter events fade with distance and are silent beyond 1,200 metres.
  • Week One police, military and leaflet helicopter flybys.
  • Week One fighter flybys and strafing, bombing and gas runs using the MiG-29 model.
  • A-Life support and raid helicopters approach from a distance, descend before rappelling, hover during deployment and climb away afterward. Ropes appear beneath the helicopter in the game world.
  • A-Life search patrols use smooth aircraft movement and moving searchlights that illuminate the world. Helicopters continue flying away after the patrol ends.
  • Adjustable cruising height: 60–300 metres, with a default of 120. A-Life insertion helicopters descend from this height; search patrols fly lower.
  • A silent, 30-second helicopter preview in Options > Mods > Visible Helicopter Events.
  • Debug controls for testing supported aircraft events. Armed Week One tests cause real damage; A-Life test replays do not spawn NPCs.

Required mods

Subscribe to and enable Project Viewpoint and ZombieBuddy:

Choose your helicopter

Enable at least one of these aircraft mods for helicopter visuals. You do not need all of them.

Options > Mods > Visible Helicopter Events lets you select a preferred helicopter or enable random models. Automatic selection prioritizes the original UH-1B when available. An unavailable preferred model falls back to another enabled helicopter. Changes apply to new flights and previews.

Model choices are local visuals; multiplayer players may see different aircraft. Events continue normally when no matching aircraft model is available.

Optional fighter jet model

Enable this aircraft to display Week One's fighter events in 3D:

Compatibility

Built for Project Zomboid 42.21.0 and Project Viewpoint 0.1.6.1, with ZombieBuddy 2.3.4 or newer.

Week One and Project A-Life are optional. Use them separately: A-Life lists Week One as incompatible because its NPCs can vanish. This addon supports their aircraft events; it does not resolve their NPC-system conflict.

During normal play, this addon follows existing events. It does not create additional events, change zombie attraction, spawn persistent vehicles or let you fly the event aircraft. Week One attacks, announcements and leaflet drops, along with A-Life deployments and search behavior, remain controlled by their original mods.

It can be added to or removed from existing saves. The standard preview button is purely for visual testing and does not attract zombies.

Credits

Aircraft models and textures belong to their original mod creators. Artwork is loaded from enabled aircraft mods and is not included in this addon.

Rendering integration uses Project Viewpoint and ZombieBuddy. Thanks to their creators for making this possible.
