Better Scopes

MUTATOR NAME: BETTERSCOPES

This mod is not finished. Currently it works well enough that you can try it out if you want.

Ultimately it aims to make the picture-in-picture scopes look more detailed by including some of the graphical effects (mainly dynamic shadows) which are skipped in the default scopes. This will obviously make the game run worse, but should hopefully make the scopes more immersive to use.

You need to have picture-in-picture scopes enabled in your video settings for this mod to take effect.

KNOWN ISSUES

• Your scope picture will usually break after respawning or resupplying. It may show all black, all red, or a frozen image of the last time you used the scope. When this happens try switching weapons or opening and closing the loadout menu to reset it.
• Need to have Effects set to High or Very High in your video settings, or your scope won't work at all in PiP mode. Intention is to disable the Better Scopes effects on lower settings but that's not implemented properly yet.
• Your scope may appear to shake slightly while transitioning in/out of leaning.
• The high-detailed scope is still rendered even if not visible when using variable optics/back-up sights, which impacts performance.
• Probably lots of other bugs.
