Description
NEW MODIFIER ADDED CRATEHUNT, WHICH CAN BE RUN ALONGSIDE HUNT! MORE WAVES OF BOTS AND DESTINATIONS.
This mutator can be run on any checkpoint map as either faction. This spawns the player team at a random point and adjust the bot spawns around the map. A portion of the bots will target a random player this both increases the difficulty and adapts Hunt for the larger map size of sandstorm. :) There are a number of configurable settings to adjust player respawns, additional bot waves, DPR, targeting thresholds, and max targeting ratios. Enjoy!
THIS IS MEANT TO BE RUN ALONGSIDE COOPHUD SO THAT THE ENEMY COUNT IS PRINTED TO THE HUD. See the modifer CrateHunt for more waves and destinations. Neither of these are required.
MUTATOR=HUNT
I've added the following mutators as well that have the values tweaked for difficulty and bigger or smaller maps. Big has wander radius increased, more enemies, higher MaxTargetingRatio, and higher ForceChargeRatio to reduce the amount of travel for player. Small has these set in the opposite direction from default. Hunted increases the spawns, hearing, and aggressiveness of the bots. This is not for the faint of heart and requires hunkering down and outlasting the bots. Instead of "hunt"ing you are the "hunted." For an opposite effect try Hunting to reduce bot charge and force players to find the bots.
Mutator= HuntBig Mutator=HuntSmall Mutator=Hunted Mutator=Hunting
Many of these settings are direct copies of the normal Checkpoint settings, but will override the vanilla when the Hunt mutator is used.
MinDelay, MaxDelay, and MaxTargetingRatio are added to reduce the travel a player has to do and reduces bots getting stuck. Based on these settings, bots will periodically be forced to target players and chase them down.
Config Variable Description
MinDelay This sets the minimum time between when a bot is set to target a random player. Default is 30 seconds.
MaxDelay This sets the maximum time between when a bot is set to target a random player. Default is 60 seconds.
MaxTargetingRatio This sets the max ratio of bots currently targetting players vs total bots (alive & dead). No more will be forced to target unless less than this are currently targeting. Default is 0.05, which is a max of 5% of the bot count that could targeting players. The bots senses typically make then attack player even with this set to 0.
MinEnemies Overrides what is set in MinimumEnemies for Checkpoint. This is the number of bots to hunt in single player. Default is 20
MaxEnemies Overrides what is set in MaximumEnemies for Checkpoint. This is the number of bots to hunt at max player count. Default is 30
EnemyMultiplier Multiplier of bots to respawn. This is the ratio of bots to respawn after getting killed. If enemy count is 10 and EnemyMultiplier is 0.5, then 5 bots will be respawned before the bot count will begin to be decreased. The enemy respawns is represented by a icon beside the bot count. This can be disabled with bHideEnemyMultiplierIcon=True. Default is 0.0
bForceSoloWaves If set to true, then players will be enabled to respawn. The number of respawns is set by SoloWaves. Like ins2, the default is False.
SoloWaves This controls the number of respawn waves the player team gets if bForceSoloWaves=True. Default is 2
RoundTime Overrides the default checkpoint round time in seconds. Default is 900.
bOverrideBotConfig If set to True, then BotAwarenessMultiplier will be used and bot behaviors adjusted. Set to False if using Improved AI. Setting to True will only override distance/hearing and behaviors relating to objectives will be disabled. Default is True.
BotAwarenessMultiplier This is a multiplier for all bot hearing and distance configs. Default is 0.75. If this is not used then bot hearing will likely enable players to not move at all and camp while all bots come to them. The lower this is, the less bots will be aware of players and the more "hunting" players will have to do. The higher this is, the more bots will be aware of players and the more "hunted" players will be.
FriendlyBotQuota This sets the friendly bot count for the Hunt mode. This overrides whatever is set for Checkpoint. Default is 0
PlayerRadius This is the distance (in cm) that a player must be from enemy bots in order to respawn there. Default is 3500 for Hunt, which is 35m.
bHideMessages If set to True, then HUD messages will be removed on round start. Text is configurable with WelcomeText Default is False
bHideEnemyMultiplierIcon If set to True, then the icon that shows the number of enemy waves will not be shown. If set to False, then the icon will show the fraction of remaining bot respawns when using multipliers. Default is False.
WelcomeText
This will be displayed to players on the first round on a given map when running Hunt. Bold text can be set with text</> and newlines with \n.
FORCECHARGERATIO This sets the ratio of total bots that will trigger all bots to target players. Default is 0.15. So at 15% bots remaining they will all target players.
bHighlightLastBots If set to True, then once FORCECHARGE has begun and DelayBeforeUrgent seconds have passed, a living bots location will be highlighted on the compass. If set to false, then the highlighting is disabled.
HighlightRatio This sets the ratio of living bots to total bots required before the compass will begin highlighting the remaining bots. This can speed up the end game where players are searching for the last few bots. Default is 0.1
Game.ini defaults. Change these if you want to adjust the settings. Note that all settings can be adjusted for HuntBig and HuntSmall, I've only put the values that differ from Hunt and the rest will be set by what is within Hunt. Any of these 3 mutators can be configured any particular way, but only the settings you want changed have to be added:
