(ACI) Orion Heavy Cruiser (HCR)

The Orion. A heavy cruiser constructed to be durable and a jack-of-all-trades warship. The purpose for the Orion's construction however, was to give the DRO a chance against the ever larger ships that the Terrans were capable of building. Therefore, ACI engineered this ship to be the mainline warship in the navy of the Democratic Republic of Orion. It comes in at a length of 275m making it even longer than the Sentinel. The Orion serves as a mobile command center, a carrier for strike craft or ground assault and infiltration squads or even as a planetary bombardment vessel. The hangar for the strike craft is situated on the port and starboard side of the ship as well as the bow. The hangars for the ground assault teams are also located on the port and starboard side of the ship. The Cruiser even features a Brig, which allows for the transportation of prisoners and criminals. The ventral hull also serves as a cargo bay in order to increase the carrying capacity of the Orion. The construction of the cruiser meant that ACI also had to develop a new set of strike craft and drop ship. The 'Eos' has been mentioned, but not yet released. Sources hint at a drop ship.
