Functional tunneling vehicles utilizing pistons and rotors can be extreamly complicated to build and as such being out of reach for small colonies with inexperienced crews. Engineers in Argonaut Industries came up with a cheap alternative using the ATV-8A as a base and strapping mining drills upon it.

[h1]Drill Operating Hints:[/h1]
- you can use right mouse button to clear large areas in front of the vehicle without collecting anything
- with a little practice, you can dig tunnels (right click) large enough to drive in them, going up or down
- when you have reached ore veins, you can even use this to drill ore (left click) if positioned right
- by changing the two conveyor tubes next to the drills with pistons, you can make it even more useful
