Grader - Road Building Blade

Dig your tunnel or open pit with drills, then send in the Grader. Mount it on a rover, switch it On and drive: it cuts the bumps, fills the dips and leaves a road your wheeled vehicles can actually use.

Each pass levels the road from side to side and keeps its uphill or downhill grade, so hills stay hills and the ruts go away. Drive the same line again and it gets smoother.

What it does

• Cuts bumps and fills dips under and just ahead of the blade.
• Keeps the grade. Steady climbs and descents stay; short bumps flatten out over a few passes.
• Grades along hillsides. Drive across a slope and it cuts a level shelf.
• Works underground. Tunnel and mine floors grade the same as open ground.
• Goes wide. Graders mounted side by side, facing the same way, work as one blade up to 25 m wide.

How to use it

1. Find Grader in the G menu. In Survival with progression, it unlocks with the ship drill.
2. Mount it on a wheeled vehicle, facing forward, by the top or rear of its two arms, and give it power.
3. Switch it On and drive forward.

While it's On, its toolbar slot shows what it is doing: Grading, Waiting, Backwards, Too fast, No power, Safe zone or Paused.

Limits

• Grades only while driving forward.
• Stops above 10 m/s.
• Needs planet gravity: does not work in space or on asteroids.
• Does not work in safe zones that forbid drilling.
• Small grid only.

It picks up again on its own once the condition clears.

• PC only. The mod uses scripts, which consoles can't run.
• Single player, hosted multiplayer and dedicated servers.
• Creative and Survival.
• No DLC or other mods required.
