Grated Catwalks Expansion

This mod aims to expand upon the grated catwalks included in the Decorative Pack #2 DLC, which you will need to have purchased. This mod includes lots of new blocks, but if you are looking for a few must-haves head over to Grated Catwalks Minimalist Expansion for a more stripped-back version containing about a third of the blocks. To be clear you do not need both mods, just one.

In total there are 146 new/redesigned blocks, ranging from new catwalk shapes (see below) to ladders, passages and stairs. Plenty of options for making creative structures all neatly sorted into the Grated Catwalk Expansion tab!

The Half Stadium Catwalk is designed to allow for rotating or angled catwalks, with a hinge positioned underneath. When building, first construct the hinge underneath the Half Stadium Catwalk and then attach your catwalks to the hinge head before rotating it, as rotating the hinge first prevents any catwalks from being attached.

I have partially redesigned the vanilla catwalk style to better suit the new shapes. But because this mod does not replace any vanilla grated catwalk pieces, you can use the two different designs together to create interesting aesthetics.

All blocks have build states and recipes, making them usable in survival. They're also fully colorable.

You will also notice that every block can be built on top of - at the moment this can make building easier but will become more useful in the future when I add new updates/mods with my attempt at pseudo-compound blocks. If you want to avoid this feature, please consider using this alternate version of the mod. It includes the same blocks as this one, but prevents any building on top of catwalks. You can still stack my passages and stairs, however.

The next big update will add button panels, but in the meantime I will be adding some new configurations (see Suggestions below) and maybe some other extra blocks. I will list new blocks in the Change Log sections, along with any fixes. Also go to Discussions and subscribe to the Changelist Thread to get notified whenever I add new blocks.

Other Planned Updates:

• Doors, Access Panels, Hatches, Folding Rails
• Canopies (as a separate mod)
• Variants with built-in lighting

Not Planned:

• Small block variants - large half width catwalks take up two and a half small grid blocks so the models cannot be used on a small grid.

Known Bugs:

• Physics on ice lakes for loose platform pieces is a little… weird (probably can’t fix)
