Adds an "Inventory item amount" event to the Event Controller: react to how much of a specific item is in your containers.
Light up a warning when the ammo box drops below ten magazines. Start the refinery when the ore bin has more than 5,000 kg of iron. Sound an alarm when the emergency hydrogen bottles run out. Turn the assembler off once you have 500 steel plates. The vanilla "Cargo filled" event only looks at how full a container is; this one counts the actual items.
How to use
[olist] [*]Place an Event Controller and pick Inventory item amount from its event list. [*]Two controls appear below it: Item to count (a dropdown of every item in your world, grouped by type, with Any item at the top) and Amount (type a number). [*]Pick the containers to watch in the controller's normal block list - anything with an inventory works: cargo containers, connectors, refineries, assemblers, turrets, cockpits, gas generators... [*]Choose the condition: Greater or Lower or equal. [*]Drag blocks and actions into the two rows as usual: top row = condition became true, bottom row = condition became false. [/olist] The block's detailed-info panel shows the item, how many blocks are watched, the current amount and whether the condition is met.
Combined total or every block?
The Event Controller's own AND checkbox decides:
- Off (default): the amounts in all selected blocks are added together and the total is compared. "Iron ore across my three ore bins is below 2,000 kg."
- On: every selected block must meet the condition by itself. "Each of my six turrets has fewer than 5 magazines."
Examples
- Low-ammo warning for the turrets: Gatling ammo box, 5, Lower or equal, AND on - top row Warning light: On, bottom row Warning light: Off
- Run the refinery only when there is ore worth processing: Iron Ore, 5000, Greater - Refinery: On / Refinery: Off
- Stop making steel plates at 500: Steel Plate, 500, Greater - Assembler: Off / Assembler: On
- Emergency bottle stock: Hydrogen Bottle, 2, Lower or equal - Warning LCD: On / Off
- Ice for the O2/H2 generators: Ice, 1000, Lower or equal - Ice-miner timer: Start / Stop
- "Cargo bay is empty" light for the mining ship: Any item, 0, Lower or equal - Green light: On / Off
- Mission-ready check, every cargo pod loaded: Steel Plate, 100, Greater, AND on - Ready light: On / Off
Good to know
- Ores and ingots are counted in kilograms, everything else in units - the same numbers you see in the inventory screen.
- Every inventory of a block is counted (an assembler's input and output, for example).
- The item list is built from whatever is loaded in your world, so modded items appear automatically.
- Amounts are checked once a second. Settings are saved with the block and synced in multiplayer; the triggering runs on the server.
