===================================================== Miner Companion v2.0.21 for the Multi-Asteroid Path [MAP] miner Core by repairmant87 =====================================================
The second half of a Core-edition MAP miner. Paste it into a spare Programmable Block on the miner and it looks after everything that happens at the dock — unloading, charging — and draws the miner's screens, so the Core miner keeps its own block for flying and digging.
It does not fly, dock or undock, and it never changes the miner's own Programmable Block. The one time it touches the flight controls is to stop the ship if the miner's block dies in flight (below). It can tell the miner to stay at the dock (the dock check) or to move on from an asteroid another miner holds.
----------------------------------------------------- WHICH MINER IS IT FOR? ----------------------------------------------------- MAP comes in two editions: - AIO ("all in one"): everything in ONE programmable block. It does not need this script. - Core: the miner on one programmable block, with this Companion on a second. Core leaves the jobs below to the Companion. On an AIO miner the Companion is harmless: it still unloads, and it leaves every screen alone because AIO draws its own. The runaway stop below works with either edition.
----------------------------------------------------- QUICK START ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Paste the MAP miner (Core) into one Programmable Block, as usual. 2. Paste the Miner Companion into a second Programmable Block on the SAME ship. 3. That's it. It starts by itself, and acts every time the miner's connector locks to a station.
----------------------------------------------------- WHAT IT DOES ----------------------------------------------------- * UNLOADS ON EVERY DOCKING. A couple of seconds after the connector locks, every ore and ingot in the miner (cargo, drills, connectors, refineries) is moved into the station's cargo containers. It makes repeated passes until nothing more moves, then stops, and tells you whether it finished or the station is full.
* ONLY INTO A STATION. It refuses to unload into another ship — a ship can fly away with your ore — and it only fills the station you are docked to, never another ship docked at the same station.
* LEAVES FUEL ALONE. Reactors (uranium) and O2/H2 generators (ice) are never emptied, so the miner keeps its power and its gas supply.
* CHARGES WHILE DOCKED. Hydrogen tanks go on Stockpile and batteries on Recharge — except the fullest battery, which stays on Auto so the ship keeps power if the station's power fails. Everything goes back to normal the moment the miner starts to undock, before it flies. IceReserve=<kg> in the Companion's Custom Data keeps that much ice aboard when unloading, for a ship that burns ice for hydrogen.
* DRAWS THE MINER'S SCREENS (Core only). Name your LCDs or cockpit screens as you would for the miner: [MAP] a copy of the miner's menu (use the miner's buttons) [STATS] status, cargo, battery, H2, shield, hull, ETA [ORE] raw ore in the hold, by type [KEY:n] picks screen n of a cockpit and [KEY:n:size] sets the font, exactly like the miner. [PAM] works as an alias for [MAP].
* DRAWS THE SETUP GUIDE (Core only). Until the miner is set up, the [MAP]/[PAM] screens and this block's second screen show the guided setup wizard (other screens are left alone), and the Companion runs the thrust-to-weight, camera-coverage, route and single-drill hull-width checks that go with it.
* MEASURES THE DRILL HEAD (Core only). It reads the real outline of the drill array and gives the miner a hole spacing that leaves no ribs of rock between holes, however the drills are arranged. It measures again when a drill is added or removed.
* KEEPS THE DRILLS MINING (Core only). Drills switched to terrain-clearing mode, which cuts rock and keeps none of it, are switched back.
* SHARES THE FIELD. Two miners never work the same asteroid. Away from the dock it turns the ship's antenna on at 1 km (your settings come back at the dock) and talks to the other miners' Companions; the one that arrived second moves on to its next job, or home. With a Core miner the asteroid is claimed as it sets out and kept while it goes home to unload, so two miners at one station sort it out before leaving. An asteroid another miner has bored right through since the last restart is skipped. Every ship needs the miner and the Companion from this release.
* KEEPS THE SENSOR ON. The miner's sensor watches the hull's sides between holes. Found switched off, it is switched back on; one that is damaged or has no power is named on the Companion's screen.
* KEEPS A YIELD LEDGER. What each asteroid has given, by ore, per trip and per hour of digging, the best first, on any screen named [YIELD] (either miner edition). It survives restarts.
* CHECKS THE SHIP AT THE DOCK. Before the miner leaves, the blocks it flies and mines with are checked. No working Remote Control, gyroscope or drill, a side with no working thruster, or no working forward camera stops the miner, once a docking: repair it, or run START to go anyway. Damaged blocks are named on its screen.
* RUNS YOUR TIMERS AND LIGHTS. A timer block on the ship named [ON DIGGING], [ON INBOUND], [ON FAULT] or any other miner state runs when the miner gets there, and [ON DOCKED], [ON UNDOCKED] and [ON FULL] (heading home with a full hold) too. Lights named [STATUS] show what the miner is doing: green digging, yellow searching, cyan flying, blue unloading, white idle, orange paused, blinking red for a fault.
