===================================================== Multi-Asteroid Path [MAP] miner v2.0.21 Core edition: the miner, with the Miner Companion on a second block by repairmant87 =====================================================

Point it at your asteroid field and let it work. MAP is a fully automatic mining script: it undocks, flies to an asteroid, drills a grid of holes sized to the rock, flies home, docks, unloads, recharges, then moves on to the next asteroid until every job is done. No piloting, no babysitting, no scripting knowledge needed. This is the Core edition: the miner on one Programmable Block, with the Miner Companion on a second one.

----------------------------------------------------- QUICK START ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Build: Remote Control, drills, thrusters on all 6 sides, gyros, a connector and TWO programmable blocks. (Cameras + a sensor are optional but STRONGLY recommended!!) 2. Paste this script into one programmable block and the Miner Companion (its own workshop item) into the other. 3. Dock at your base once: the dock position AND orientation are learned automatically. 4. Paste asteroid GPS bookmarks into the [PASTE ASTEROID GPS BELOW] box at the end of the miner PB's Custom Data (one per line). 5. Run the miner PB with argument: START

Until the ship is ready, the Companion shows a guided setup wizard on your [MAP] screens that tells you exactly what to do next.

----------------------------------------------------- CORE + MINER COMPANION ----------------------------------------------------- Core flies, searches, surveys, digs and docks. The Miner Companion, on a second block of the same ship, unloads the hold and holds the charge while docked, draws the setup wizard and the [MAP], [STATS] and [ORE] screens, measures the drill head, keeps two miners off the same asteroid, checks the ship at the dock, keeps a [YIELD] ledger, runs [ON <event>] timers and [STATUS] lights, and stops the ship if the miner's block dies in flight. Without it the miner still flies and digs, but nothing holds the charge or draws the screens.

Core has what AIO does not: the ORE command, a second survey lap and holes along the asteroid's longest side, a learned back-out speed, and jobs added from a GPS bookmark run as the argument. Paste Core OR AIO, never both. Each script shows its edition and version on its screen (this one: v2.0.21-Core; the Companion: v2.0.21-Companion).

----------------------------------------------------- WHY MAP ----------------------------------------------------- * MANY ASTEROIDS, ONE SCRIPT. One dock, one staging point, unlimited jobs. START runs the whole queue, site-to-site hops included.

* PASTE GPS INSTEAD OF FLYING PATHS. A GPS bookmark in Custom Data, or run as the PB's argument, becomes a job; a rock already queued is not added twice. The miner watches for the asteroid from 2 km out, searches outward from the GPS if it isn't there, and corrects the job's GPS for next time.

* DOCK ONCE, DOCK ANYWHERE. Locking the connector teaches it the dock position, heading and roll. It turns at a standoff sized to your ship, then creeps straight in, so it docks in a 2.5 m tunnel.

* IT MEASURES THE ROCK. Two camera survey laps at right angles size the asteroid, and the holes run along its longest side with a grid only as wide as the rock: fewer, longer holes (2ndRingLongAxis turns either off).

* IT MEASURES YOUR SHIP. Braking comes from live thrust and mass, so a loaded miner brakes earlier. Asteroids in a gravity well are mined too, with thrust kept in reserve for the ship's weight.

* SELF-TUNING SPEED. MaxCruise=MAX learns the server's speed limit, and cruise is capped by what the cameras and sensor can see and the ship can stop within: more cameras, faster flight. Something too close to stop for at top speed is dodged sideways.

* SELF-CALIBRATING DRILLS. The cut rate follows how fast rock really clears and slows when a busy server makes the drills cut late. The drill head's real outline sets the hole spacing, so no ribs of rock are left, and each hole starts just above the ones beside it. With ReverseSpeed on AUTO it learns how fast this ship can back out of a hole without its shield taking hits (RevCal).

* IT REMEMBERS WHERE THE ORE WAS. Each paying hole is saved as a GPS with its ore types. With EatWholeRock off, later trips drill a small patch around each spot instead of the whole rock, and ORE Gold drills only the gold spots.

* IT FIXES YOUR MISTAKES. A reversed gyro is corrected in flight; a jammed hole is retried, then skipped; with a thruster shot off it limps home. A pilot in the seat takes over at once. Every fault shows its reason and how to clear it, and the last one is kept in Custom Data ([FAULT]) for bug reports.

* IT KNOWS WHEN IT'S BEEN HIT. With an Energy Shield (Cython) it tells a collision from weapons fire and flees home when attacked. Two or more damaged blocks send it home for repair.

* BUILT FOR MULTIPLAYER. Scans spread across ticks, no redundant writes, a slow idle rate, the sensor cut to under a metre when not needed. It stops digging before a scheduled restart, parks or docks, and a fleet resumes on staggered timers. A PB limiter warning pauses it where it is. Raycasting FULL / LITE / OFF.

* MOD-AWARE. Tiered drills (SenX, Tiered Tech, Prototech) set the hole spacing; modded fuels, sensor ranges and camera rates are handled.

Also: hauls home when full and resumes at the same hole; mid-job state survives recompiles and reboots.
