NE Resources and Technology
Seven planet-exclusive ores plus coal, 150 tier components and 870 tier blocks in six tiers, unlocked through an assembler-gated tech tree. From the first tier on, you need three planets.

✦ What it does
- 870 tier blocks: six tiers (T1 to T6) of 145 functional blocks, large and small grid, including DLC and Prototech blocks
- 150 tier components: 25 component types in six tiers, 7 of them Prototech
- 7 planet-exclusive ores plus coal on Pertam, Titan and Triton, uranium only at the poles of Pertam
- NE ore scanner in every ore detector
- Assembler-gated tech tree: every assembler tier unlocks the next component tier
- Research and G-menu integration: tier blocks sit right behind their base block
- Tier icons: Roman numerals I to VI on tier blocks, tier components and assembler tabs
✦ The tier system
Compared with the vanilla block:

[th]Value[/th][th]T1[/th][th]T2[/th][th]T3[/th][th]T4[/th][th]T5[/th][th]T6[/th]

Performance ¹×1.5×2.5×3.5×4.5×5.5×10

Thrust, battery, tanks, O2/H2 output×2×3.33×4.67×6×7.33×13.33

Build cost ²×2×3.33×4.67×6×7.33×13.33

Cargo capacity×2×4×8×8×8×8

Refinery efficiency+5%+10%+20%+20%+20%+20%

Upgrade modules ³×1.5×1.75×2×2.25×2.5×3

Drill, grinder, welder range×1.5×1.75×2×2.25×2.5×3

Safe zone radius150 m300 m500 m500 m500 m500 m

¹ Gyroscope torque, assembly and refinery speed, ore detector range, jump drive mass, power output of reactors, coal reactors, hydrogen engines, solar panels and wind turbines. ² Component count and build time. Jump drives: ×1.5 to ×10, coal reactors: about ×1.5 to ×10. ³ A tier module works like that many game modules.
Capped at T3: inventories, refinery efficiency, safe zone radius, power drain and upkeep, energy per jump, oxygen farm output, hydrogen engine fuel capacity and refill rate, Warfare Reactor fuel efficiency, planetary influence of atmospheric and ion thrusters.
Tier blocks use components of their own tier and weigh 0.90 to 1.07× their base block. Industrial Assemblers and Refineries match the standard ones.
✦ Tiered blocks

[th]Category[/th][th]Blocks[/th]

ProductionAssemblers, Industrial Assemblers, Refineries, Industrial Refineries, Speed, Yield and Power Efficiency Modules

PowerReactors, Warfare Reactors, Coal Reactors, Hydrogen Engines, Batteries, Warfare Batteries, Battery Banks, Solar Panels, Wind Turbines

ThrustersAtmospheric, flat atmospheric, hydrogen, industrial hydrogen, ion, sci-fi and warfare

GasesHydrogen and Oxygen Tanks, bulky and lab tanks, O2/H2 Generators, Oxygen Farms

Tools and systemsDrills, Grinders, Welders, Ore Detectors, Gyroscopes, Cargo Containers, bulk and modular containers, Jump Drives, Safe Zones

PrototechAll 14 Prototech blocks

DLC variants and reskins are tiered too. Blocks that exist only for large grids in vanilla are tiered for large grids only.
✦ New blocks
- Coal Reactor (large and small grid, base block plus T1 to T6): generates power from Coal Fuel
- Small Jump Drive (small grid, base block plus T1 to T6, 50 km range)
✦ Prototech
- Endgame: Prototech = T6 performance, its tiers multiply it (T1 Prototech beats T6 standard)
- Crafting only: no Prototech encounters, drones or loot
- Components need T6 assemblers and plenty of exclusive ingots, no scrap
- Prototech Assembler and Refinery work like the T6 Assembler and T6 Refinery
- Prototech Drill: area of the T6 drill, 3× ore yield
- Prototech Jump Drives: 1,500 km (large), 125 km (small grid)
✦ Components and assemblers
Vanilla ingots plus ingots from the exclusive ores. Ingots and crafting time relative to T1: T2 ×1.5, T3 ×2, T4 ×3, T5 ≈×3.67, T6 ≈×6.67.

[th]Assembler[/th][th]Component tiers[/th]

Vanilla AssemblerT1

T1 to T4 Assemblerup to one tier above its own

T5 and T6 AssemblersT1 to T6, T6 also Prototech

Prototech Assemblersall standard tiers, Prototech up to one tier above its own

✦ Ores and planets

[th]Planet[/th][th]Exclusive ores[/th][th]Notes[/th]

PertamBauxite, Chromite, TitaniteUranium only here, no silver, magnesium or gold

TitanWolframite, ChalcopyriteGold and platinum

TritonEuxenite, RoquésiteGold, no platinum

- T1 already needs three planets: 133 of the 145 T1 blocks need ores from all three; the 12 hydrogen thrusters need Pertam and Titan
- Uranium: one huge deposit at the north pole and one at the south pole of Pertam, 250 m radius, 1,000 m below the surface
- Depth: exclusive ores lie deep (100 to 200 m); all other ores on these planets start at 3 to 55 m
- Coal: on all three planets, refined into Coal Fuel for the Coal Reactor
