Recolorable Thrusters

Recolorable Thrusters

Description

How to use: You can set the colors for the idle thrust and/or full thrust flames from the terminal. There are also properties to set them from programmable blocks (called "FlameIdleColorOverride" and "FlameFullColorOverride").

If you check the "Lock Flame Colors" checkbox, changes to these properties are ignored. This way even if you have a mod or in-game script that wants to change the color, you can lock-in your own values.

The "Flame Render Mode" slider controls how the idle and full colors are used when rendering the flames. When it's set to Linked, the full color will always be the same as the idle color. Blended mode is the original rendering mode and Separate will use only the idle color when the thruster is idle and only the full color when it's thrusting so you can have two totally different colors for the different states without any blending messing up your carefully selected color.

The "Hide Thrust Flames" checkbox will let you hide the flames for example for front or breaking thrusters that might be hidden but where the thrust flames still leak through.

On your request, as of the last update, the alpha value of the flame colors can also be changed. I am still not sure if it makes sense to change it. Maybe on custom thruster this can useful somehow.

Color information is saved in CustomData, so it's kept between reloads and even in blueprints and you can be set there - not sure why would anyone want to do that, but hey :)

Additional Information: This mod should work for any thrusters, even modded ones. If there are any problems, just leave a comment and I'll try to look at it.

Multiplayer is working both in local games as well as on dedicated servers.

Thrusters without flames like hover engines won't show the color sliders in the terminal since they wouldn't do anything anyways.
