Reliable Elite Spawn Tools (Respawn Fix)

Reliably upgrades the starter equipment already present in a player's inventory on initial spawn, respawn, and reconnect.

Every genuinely new character also receives 3 full hydrogen bottles, 1 elite automatic rifle, and 5 matching magazines. Persistent per-character tracking prevents reconnect/server-restart duplication.

Optional binoculars

When Modern Infantry - Combat (or its local build) provides the Recon Binoculars inventory definition, the kit also grants one binocular. The presence check uses the loaded item definition; no combat-mod dependency is required. Without it, the ordinary kit works and binoculars are skipped. An existing binocular satisfies the grant. Losing or dropping a recorded grant does not cause another on reconnect/restart. Adding this update grants missing binoculars once to existing characters without repeating their other supplies.

What makes it reliable

• Detects every newly created player character, not only the first join
• Retries for about 20 seconds while the spawn inventory is populated
• All inventory changes are performed by the server on the simulation thread
• Works on local games, hosted multiplayer, and dedicated servers
• No client-trusted network request and no background timer
• Restores the original item if an elite replacement cannot be added

Tool upgrades affect at most one existing item per family. The supplies listed above are separate, persistent one-time grants per character. Inventory capacity failures retry within the existing bounded spawn window and are logged if still incomplete.

Installation

Disable the old Elite Spawn Tools mod (Workshop ID 933186766), add this mod, then reload the world. Load order should not matter.

Uses current vanilla item subtype IDs. Mods that remove or replace the vanilla elite item definitions may prevent a replacement; in that case this mod attempts to restore the original item and records the failure in the log.

Independent rewrite inspired by the behavior of the older Elite Spawn Tools mod. None of that mod's source files are included.
