Tiered Welders and Grinders
The welders and grinders need an upgrade chip to increase the speed of the tool. To be specific, welder and grinder need the upgrade chips to increase speed, the tools area of effect stays the same despite the upgrade applied. [h1]The only thing affected by the upgrade chips on the welder/grinder is the speed at which they perform their function[/h1]
To upgrade a tool you need to place the chip on the two black bars on the side of the tool for it to work.
-Tier 1 chip = 1.5x speed increase (requires Octocores) -Tier 2 chip = 2x speed increase (requires Octocores) -Tier 3 chip = 2.5x speed increase (requires Octocores) -Tier 4 chip = 4x speed increase (requires Xenucores)
Tiered Drills
Unlike Tiered welder and grinder this tool doesn't need the upgrade chips; instead there are separate tools for each upgrade that increases the affected range of your drills. They will require the Octocore or the Xenucore for construction.
Large Grid: Default 3m
Tier 1 = 7m dia. Tier 2 = 11m dia. Tier 3 = 14m dia. Tier 4 = 19m dia.
Small Grid: Default 2m
Tier 1 = 6.5m dia Tier 2 = 9m dia. Tier 3 = 12m dia. Tier 4 = 15m dia.
