About Udarvis System - Console Edition

From mod.io

Welcome traveler. You have now entered the Udarvis system. Beware of the brown dwarf gas giant, and remember to not get too close! This system consists of a mysterious brown dwarf/gas giant. During the formation of Udarvis, 4 moons formed.

Welcome to the Console Edition of the Udarvis System. Due to the huge scale of the mod, I had to do a lot of trimming down and scaling down in order for the mod to be under 1gb. Thankfully, the mod size is now reduced from 1.2gb => 564mb. For this to be achieved, sacrifices in planet detail and other features had to be either reduced or removed.

Differences over Steam Version:

  • OBJ and OBR planet heightmaps reduced to 512x512.
  • Udarvis planet detailed clouds are removed.
  • Palm trees removed from Kuma and Gamadon.
  • Unused files were removed
  • Lava & damage Scripts are removed
  • File size reduced from 1.2gb => 564mb

Nevertheless, despite these limitations, I hope you enjoy the mod!

Welcome traveler. You have now entered the Udarvis system. Beware of the brown dwarf gas giant, and remember to not get too close! This system consists of a mysterious brown dwarf/gas giant.

Udarvis is a Brown Dwarf star, at the verge of becoming an actual star. Remember not to get too close! You ship will get destroyed. During the formation of Udarvis, 4 moons formed: Mieliv, Kuma, Gamadon, and Sario. Long time ago, when previous settlers encountered the system, they decided to terraform three of the moons, Mieliv, Kuma and Gamadon.

Previous settlers attempted to also terraform Mieliv but instead of terraforming, there was a mistake by outputting too much carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, making a very strong greenhouse effect. This actually done the polar opposite of what the previous settlers intended. As a result, they abandoned Mieliv terraforming attempts and remains a planet with a hellscape reminiscent of Venus, on steroids. Don't expect to find any ice and remember to be careful of lava!

The opposite can be said for Kuma. The planet used to be a desert wasteland with a nitrogen-rich atmosphere. All the settlers had to do was sprinkle some plant life to produce oxygen and now Kuma is a flourishing haven for live, and is the perfect place for any newcomer to set up camp.

Due to its dwindling resources, the previous settlers did not have enough resources to fully terraform Gamadon, as most of the planet still is a barren desert. However, an attempt was seen with the growth of trees and plant life down in the lower levels.

Sario unfortunately was too small to be terraformed, and was left abandoned, waiting for the next settlers to make something out of it.
