AFK Mode

AFK Mode lets you keep your Palworld world running while you’re sleeping, working or away from your PC without leaving the game running at full power.

It’s ideal for co-op hosts who want their world to remain available for friends. It’s also useful for single-player users who want an always-on, dedicated-server-style experience where base Pals, production and the world can continue operating while they’re away.

When activated, AFK Mode automatically:

• Teleports you to the closest available guild bed • Places your character into the sleeping animation • Caps the game at 30 FPS • Switches to 640×360 windowed mode • Reduces render resolution and graphics quality • Lowers shadows, effects, grass and view distance • Disables unnecessary visual effects • Mutes the game and hides the HUD • Trims unused physical memory

Your original graphics, display, audio, camera and HUD settings are saved before anything changes.

During testing, Palworld’s RAM usage dropped from approximately 4,783 MB to 1,247 MB while AFK Mode was active and the game was minimized. Results may vary depending on your world, PC and installed mods.

Open the Pause Menu, go to Options and click AFK Mode : OFF. The menu closes and AFK Mode activates in a short staged sequence.

Once AFK Mode is active, minimize Palworld for the best performance and resource reduction.

To exit AFK Mode, restore the game window and move your character, click the button again or press F8. Your previous settings are automatically restored, and gameplay resumes from the bed.

Recovery protection also prevents Palworld from launching in the reduced AFK resolution if the game is closed or crashes while AFK Mode is active.

AFK Mode is designed for single-player and player-hosted co-op worlds. When using it in co-op, only the host should install the mod. Guest players do not need it.

All performance changes are local to the host’s game. Connected players keep their own FPS, graphics, audio and HUD settings.

AFK Mode does not pause the world or interfere with connected players, base Pals or production. It simply reduces the resources used by the host’s game client while the world continues running.

Palworld will still require some CPU and memory to keep the world running, but AFK Mode significantly reduces unnecessary resource usage while you’re away.

[b] If you have raids activated in your world settings, raid events will still trigger when in AFK mode!!!

If you are using AFK Mode with Raids activated PLEASE make sure your base can defend itself with you not helping!!!

I will be looking into making raids turn off while in AFK Mode, but please keep this in mind until then![/b]
