Guild Storage Expander

The Guild Chest holds 54 items by default, which fills up long before you have one of everything you build with. This mod raises it to 444 slots.

That number is not a guess. Every crafting recipe and every building recipe in the game was read and the ingredients were counted. There are 1414 crafting recipes and 498 building recipes, and between them they use 444 different materials.

So the chest holds one slot for each of them. Nothing is missing and nothing is padding. A single Guild Chest can hold one of every material you build with.

Features

  • Guild Chest capacity goes from 54 slots to 444 slots.
  • One slot for every unique crafting and building material in the game.
  • No dependencies. There is nothing else to install.
  • Removing the mod never shrinks a chest and never deletes anything you stored.

How to use

Subscribe. Open Mod Management from the main menu. Tick Guild Storage Expander and press Save. To turn it off, untick it and press Save.

Running a server

Only the server needs this. Nobody joining has to install anything at all.

If you are on a Windows dedicated server you can use the Workshop copy. Put the mod folder into Mods\\Workshop next to PalServer.exe. Info.json has to sit right inside that folder, not buried a level deeper. Then open Mods\\PalModSettings.ini and make it look like this.

[PalModSettings]
bGlobalEnableMod=true
ActiveModList=GuildStorageExpander

That name is the PackageName out of Info.json, not whatever your folder is called. Restart the server and the pak goes where it needs to go on its own.

On Linux, or any host that does not do Workshop mods, drop the pak in yourself. Stop the server, make the folder Pal/Content/Paks/~mods if it is not there already, put GuildStorageExpander_P.pak inside it, start the server again.

Either way the guilds already sitting on your server keep their old chest until you fix the save. That is the next bit.

IT DOES NOT WORK ON GUILDS MADE BEFORE THE MOD

The game locks the chest size the moment a guild is created. This was always in the description but a lot of people ran into it anyway and kept leaving comments. So here are two ways to fix a guild you already have.

Easy way, nothing to download

Break your palboxes so you have no bases. Then join someone elses guild. Then leave that guild and make your own again. Your new guild has the 444 slot chest. Resetting your character also works if you are fine with that.

Second way, a free tool I made

If you do not want to break your bases, or you run a server, use Guild Chest Fix. It opens your save and raises the chest of every guild you already have. You pick the size. It asks for any number from 54 to 444, and pressing Enter just uses the full 444. So if you would rather have a lightly buffed chest than a huge one, type something like 70 and that is what you get. Your items stay where they are. It makes a backup of your save before it touches anything and it never shrinks a chest.

Get it here: https://github.com/DSSidhu2206/GuildChestFix

All of it is open source and every release is built in public by GitHub, so you can read exactly what it does and check the file you downloaded against the build log. There is a section in the readme about that and about why antivirus tools flag small unsigned exes like this one.

How to run it: [olist] [*]Close Palworld. [*]Download the zip from the releases page, unzip it anywhere, run GuildChestFix.exe. If it cannot find the Oodle codec already on your PC it downloads it once, that is normal. [*]Tell it what chest size you want, or just press Enter for the full 444. [*]Pick your world from the list and confirm. Done. [/olist] On a dedicated server, stop the server first, then copy Level.sav off it and onto your PC. It lives in Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0 and then a folder with a long random name, that is your world. Run the tool, press P, point it at that file, then put it back where you got it from. You can also just drag Level.sav straight onto GuildChestFix.exe and it will go right to that save instead of asking you to pick one.

You only need this once per world. Guilds made after that get the big chest from the mod on its own.

Notes

  • In multiplayer only the server needs this mod. Other players do not need to install anything.
  • Opening a chest this large can take a moment longer than a normal one. That is expected and it is harmless.
  • Backing up your save is always a good habit.

Need something looked at fast

If something is broken and you need it looked at quickly, you can message me on Discord and I will likely see it sooner than the comments here. My Discord is icyarcanine. Please do not spam me.
