The armor does look kind of funny without them, but the wings block so much of your view that it is definitely worth it.

If you run into any issues with the mod please leave a comment being sure to note any other mods you have related to textures or models. This will help me a lot to fix things, as this change is minimal and works well in most cases but the game can be picky about textures sometimes.
