Yes, you must disable block limits.
6 months in the making, I am incredibly proud to present my recreation of the UNSC Spirit of Fire! This is by far my greatest achievement for Space Engineers. Designed for optiomal preformance while still maintaining that nice eye candy look! I spent more time designing the key areas of the ship, such as the bridge and hangers, and kept some of the smaller rooms on the ship more simple to save on preformance.
I completely forgot to actually add the pelicans and the sabre fighters into the hangers. Two of the Pelicans made by Derp2733 will fit into the lower hanger, while 4 of his Sabre Fighters will fit into the upper hangers. The deployable fire bases can be datched and flown to surface, and the ODST pods are fully functional.
SOMETHING TO NOTE ABOUT PREFORMANCE: I kept this ship as preformance friendly as I could. Because SE's shadows seem to be very poorly optimized, I recomend disabling them to gain an extra 40 fps when in the ship. If once you have shadows disabled, and the interiors still seem too bright, press F12 to go to the devoloper options, renders tab, overrides and disable the Sun. This keeps the look of shadows but gives you an extra 40fps.
With shadows on, outside the ship I get 80FPS. Inside the ship with shadows on, I usually get around 30 to 40 FPS. Inside the ship with shadows disabled using the trick above, Game looks no differnet but inside the ship is about 80FPS.
If you like this ship, the please be sure to check out my Paris Class Frigate as well: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819545584
